The Real Story
How being "out of touch with the times" led to the right solution
I started creating this app in 2024 with the idea of helping middle school and high school students develop their network as they take steps planning their career. At the time, the app was just an opportunity management idea.
I didn't know exactly where I was going, but the pathway always led to developing letters, communication, reaching out in some digital form to those people who were part of the opportunities students could look forward to.
Being out of touch with the times of the day, I started creating a desktop application. But it didn't feel right. I kept pushing on as I was teaching myself new skills such as SQL database AND JSON.
BUT ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH.
"Who carries a desktop, laptop, notebook around with them and uses it as a form of communication?"
So after 43 days of writing the app, I scrapped it for a different platform and that's how we landed on the mobile device.
This time I formed the plan. I wrote the output products, the interface for the output products that I wanted. The interface for the solution. I knew where I wanted to go and I started building it with the end in mind.
The result is Opportunity 24/7 AI - born from learning what doesn't work, built for how career communication actually happens.
